Intelligent whiskey I guzzling misanthropists making visionary, revolutionary music armed with thee creative weapon of choice, a foot drum and a pair of Danelectros, culminating in a retro – garage – surf – gungy vibe. Waldorf and Cannon.
Since 2015, they have been blazing a trail across Europe. Literally, from Ireland to Russia, spreading the good word of rock’n’roll and leaving the singles ‘Rise Up’, ‘Bore You’, ‘Omit Thee Logic’ and ‘Beats Ahoy’ behind like a breadcrumb trail of originality.
Philip Wallace (drums/ guitar/ harmonica/vocals) and Oisin Cannon (bass/vocals) are not only cosmically talented individuals but great collaborators who have a Danelectro and Artist deal and work with Pete Farmer’s foot drums.
Writing, recording, producing, mixing via their own label online and in local shops, shooting and editing the videos, building their website, organising shows, booking tours, all internally, they are the definition of independence.
With their genre mutant debut album “Old Dogs New Tricks”, they have been played all over the UK and Irish airwaves and have gone from the far reaches of Russia to the other side of the Atlantic on KEXP in Seattle.
From the Mummies to Mudhoney, the north west of Ireland to the north west of America, some weird places, and even weirder sounds in between, you’d be a lot less comfortable knowing Waldorf and Cannon.
